Your Village, Your Voice: Shaping the Orchard Grove Connection
Trull Parish Council is entering a critical period of advocacy regarding the development of the new spine road and roundabout connecting our village to the Orchard Grove Eastern Neighbourhood.
While this infrastructure is part of a long-term timeline—expected to take 3 to 4 years or more—we have a unique window to influence the design before Somerset Council and the developers finalise their plans. Based on early conversations with the Planning Officer in April 2026, the Parish Council has developed a series of initial “concept ideas” to ensure these changes benefit our residents rather than just managing traffic.
Why we need your input now
We aren’t just looking at a road; we are looking at how we can improve the heart of Trull. Our initial proposals explore:
- A Safer High Street: Introducing a one-way system and a 20mph limit through the village section.
- Better Public Spaces: Creating wider pedestrian areas outside our shops and relocating bus stops for better flow.
- Strategic Parking: Increasing spaces with a new “nose-to-pavement” parking layout.
- Protecting Residential Roads: Deciding the best way to manage Dipford Road to prevent it from becoming a “rat run”.
How to get involved
We have provided a presentation which visualises these community-led concepts. Please note: these are not official developer drawings, but rather our interpretation of how the development could work best for Trull.

Your feedback will be shared directly with the Planning Officer to ensure that the “official” plans created over the next year reflect the desires and concerns of the Trull community.
